Joe Clay is a motion designer and director from Tampa. Instead of heading off to New York or LA like most people in the industry, he decided to found his studio, Yellow Dog Party, in Tampa because of his love for the city, its history, and its people. There is such a tight-knit talent pool here and it became Joe's passion to make it known that Tampa is capable of high-level industry work. To that end, he founded Workbench to teach advanced motion designers even more advanced techniques. Joe also joined forces with Severo Ojea to expand the knowledge that they could share. That has led to industry recognition, speaking engagements, and friendships, but most importantly, it's been a way to give back to the community that has given Joe so much and to put a spotlight on the city and community he grew up in. Severo Ojea is a motion designer and director from Miami. He came to Tampa in 1998 and never looked back. At that time, the film and motion design community was tiny. As he worked in the area, he made friends and connections and eventually founded his own company. In 2013, Severo joined forces with Joe Clay and together they have produced high-level work as a small team. This partnership continued when Severo joined Workbench to help share his knowledge and grow the community both worldwide, and locally here in Tampa. Severo's next goal is to focus more on developing our local community and bring the spotlight to it.
